# Ownership and Funding

Common ownership

NZ Wire is part of the **NZ Wire** network, operated by **The Release Wire Media Group**. Every site in the network shares the same owner, the same editorial standards and the same publishing platform.

We disclose this on every page of every site in the network. The sites are commonly owned and are not independent of one another.

How we are funded

Our revenue comes from:

1. **Paid press release distribution.** Businesses and agencies pay to have an announcement published across a chosen set of network sites. These items are labeled and their outbound links are `rel="sponsored nofollow"`.
2. **Syndication agreements** with partner organisations whose content we republish with attribution and a canonical link to the original.

Payment buys distribution and a clearly-labeled placement. It does not buy editorial coverage, an editorial label, favourable treatment, or search-engine link value.

Editorial independence

Advertisers and press release customers have no influence over editorial content. Editorial decisions are made by our editorial staff. If you believe a piece of content breaches this, write to editorial@nzwire.news.
